The nearest big city is Stockholm, Sweden which is a nice boat ride or 30 minute plane ride away. Mariehamn (MAHR-ee-uh-Hahm) is the small capital of the Åland islands and about 30min drive towards Eckerö, on the western part of the islands you will find Käringsund Resort & Conference. Check here the bungalows in which you will sleep. There are many Ferries from Sweden and Finland to Mariehamn. (see How to get there) They take 4-6 hours from Sweden and cost about 15-30 Euros.
